about

This track was meant to serve as an introduction to Prisoners of War while both connecting it to and setting it apart from my previous album Global Warning. This album was recorded a year after Global Warning, but I think it represents a big step up.

lyrics

[Prelude]

Prisoners of war.
Wake up. The sun's rising.
I'm feeling good today.
I've warned the global.
Now it's time for revolution, to break the chains.
It's all about education.
And the war of information.
Who's going to prevail? History will tell.
But history is in our favor.
The working class will rise up.
What up?

Verse 1:

We're prisoners of war, get your back up off the wall
It's time for revolution, what the fuck you think I'm rapping for?
Crack the jaw, of any counterrevolutionary
He who goes against the people represents the evil
We oppose the system capitalism and what it stands for
We demand war, revolutionaries stand tall
Yea y'all, this is how the slaves get freedom
I've jotted down some rhymes, now allow me to read them

[The Jump]

Yea. Live and direct.
You've got Sun R.A. Sun Rise Above.
Revolution all day is what they call me.
You know what I'm saying?
Yea.
Yo. It's time for the people to rise.
So one, two.
On the mic, you've got Sun Caesar, ready to get loose.
What's up?

Verse 1:

I took the time last night to write in my book of rhymes
Trying to walk a straight path out of these crooked times
Looked at signs during Global Warning now I'm overturning
Freeing Prisoners of War while I'm world touring
Spent the whole morning with my seeds, then eventually
When they went to leave, had my heart piece emptying
Caught the bus and showed up at the booth
Sneaky Mike record the vocals while I spit these lines I wrote you
Hope you listening so I ain't just spitting them for the hell of it
I ain't one of these rap cats whose raps are irrelevant
If you bought my album just to shake your ass, then you should take it back
I'm making raps as part of the struggle, I ain't faking jacks
And making facts available, blasting out of your radio
Make you say to your girl, this is some shit that you've got to hear
With beats that make the speakers shake, like they've got a lot of fear
Blast it when you pass the cops, they stop like what's the problem here?
Ain't nothing pig, back up off me before I bust your wig
We ain't gotta hide in fear, 'cause the time is here
We're gonna rise and yeah, we will win this I promise you
Listen, capitalism we will abolish you

When I say let's get, y'all say free
Let's get (free)
Let's get (free)

When I say let's get, y'all say free
Let's get (free)
Let's get (free)

When I say Revo, y'all say lution
Revo (lution)
Revo (lution)

When I say Revo, y'all say lution
Revo (lution)
Revo (lution)

Yeah
